Oakland's Own Photo Story: East Span Bay Bridge Tour!!!

If you've read my profile, you know I'm a civil engineer for a construction company. My company did not work on any part of the Bay Bridge project, but due to my "construction perks," I got an opportunity to tour the new east span of the Bay Bridge before they officially open to traffic on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd! The bridge is BEAUTIFUL and well worth the wait. I'm really grateful I got to see it up close in a way I never will again. Enjoy the photos and video!

Cormorant Condo's! These are actually fake birds. Environmentalist are trying to lure the Cormorants from their homes at the Old Bridge to the new bridge. These condos come complete with static neighbors and 24hr Cormorant songs

  1. Very cool! I got to go on a tour before the cables for the suspension part were done, back in 2012. That cross-section of the cable looked very familiar :-)
